Yes! Don't worry about running out of threads. BeforeWeaving
poses no limits on the number of warp and weft threads.
It is possible to insert or remove threads whenever you decide to.
And more: BeforeWeaving gives you unlimited shafts (harness) and treadles!
Note:
BeforeWeaving demo
version is limited to 200 warp/weft
threads, and this is the only limitation.
Everything else is fully functional.

 | Project and standard color palettes | | | |
BeforeWeaving uses color palettes to assign colors to
threads. A color palette is a set of 64
colors that you may change and adapt to your needs.
Every weaving project has its own palette. Besides project
palettes, BeforeWeaving has a standard palette
which is used to assign colors to new projects.

 | Reads and writes WIF files | | | |
BeforeWeaving projects are saved in
disk as WIF files. Since most weaving
programs can read a WIF file, this format

with other people.

BeforeWeaving keeps a list of the
changes you have made in your project.

What BeforeWeaving does NOT do:

Here are some features BeforeWeaving
does not support yet (although we expect to
support them in future releases).
 | Interface with computer looms | | |
|
BeforeWeaving does not control computerized looms.
If you own a computerized loom like, for instance, AVL
and Leclerc computer dobby looms, please
check the Links/Software section for other software
products that may satisfy your
needs.
|
|
 | Support variable thickness threads | | |
|
In its current release, BeforeWeaving will draw all
threads with the same relative thickness (thread
diameter, or thread 'size').
|
|
 | Special looms or complex weaving techniques | | |
|
BeforeWeaving was designed for single weaving on harness
looms with tieup and treadles.
That means that it will not give you any support for
different loom types (jacquard looms, draw
looms, rug looms, frame looms, etc...).
Also, there is not support for complex weaving
techniques like, for instance, double
weaving, crossed warps weaving (leno weaving), brocade,
etc...
