Opening & saving files
BW uses the standard Windows menu way of opening and saving a weaving project.

At startup BW will always open a new (empty) project according to the parameters set in Preferences (more on this at Adapting BW to your needs)
You can start working on this new project, or decide to open an existing one (menu Weaving/Open...)
After working on a project you may simply save it (menu Weaving/Save) or save it with a different name (menu Weaving/Save As...)
When saving a project for the first time (or saving a project with Save As) BW will prompt you with a dialog asking for a file name. Also, if you decide to open another project after making some changes to the current one, BW will ask you if you want to save these changes or discard them.
BW projects are saved in disk as WIF files. Since most weaving programs can read a WIF file, this format is a very convenient way to share your projects with other people.
(If you want to know more about WIF files, please read WIF files)
The dialog that pops up after clicking the Save As... menu has an extra option the allows you to save a BMP image of your project (see Printing & Saving BMPs topic)
