Undoing changes

BW keeps a list of the changes you have made in your project.
This list can be used to undo some of the changes or, if you wish, to completely restore the project back to the point when it was last saved (or, if you haven't saved your project yet, to the point when it was opened).

Undoing changes

To undo changes in BW you can:

a) Ctrl + Z (hold on the Ctrl key and press Z) to undo the last change only.
(You can alternatively click menu Edit/Undo for the same purpose)

b) To undo a group of changes, click menu Edit/Undo history... and BW will show you the History dialog:

History dialog

This dialog has a time ordered list of the changes you have made in your project. Recent changes appear at the bottom of the list. Prior changes appear at the top.
To undo a group of changes, just click the list to select an entry, and click the Undo button.
BW will undo all the recent changes, back to (and including) the selected entry.

c) Click menu Edit/Undo all to restore your project to the point when it was last saved (or, if you didn't save your project, to the point when it was opened).
BW will restore the project and clear the history list.

Notes

1) When you save a project, BW clears the history list. So it is not possible to undo changes made prior to saving the project.

2) The number of entries in the history list is specified in the Preferences dialog (see Adapting BW to your needs). This number of entries should be between 10 and 1000.

3) After making enough changes to get near the end of the history list, BW will warn you to save the project.
If you decide not to save the project, BW will use the free entries in the list until it gets full. At this point BW will wrap around and start reusing older entries.

If, for example, your history list is 100 entries long and you´ve made 150 changes without saving the project, you will not be able to undo the first 50 changes because only the last 100 changes will be on the list.
But you can always restore the project back to the last saved condition with Edit/Undo all.
